24 FRAMES PER SECOND: STORYTELLING WITH STILL IMAGES
Leaning on the fundamental building blocks of cinema, we invite you to tell a story using just twenty-four still frames.
Apply with a carefully thought-out idea based on the theme below that can be achieved using 24 still frames.
THEME = ZAWYA STORIES: AN EVENING AT THE CINEMA
WHO CAN JOIN:
Emerging and established filmmakers
Artists from relevant creative backgrounds
Film lovers
DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS:
Apply in teams of 2-3.
One team and one idea per application.
Be as clear and detailed as possible in your idea description! Make sure to include any actors or key props that will be involved.
Sound design, subtitles, and music can be applied in post-production.
All will be shot on analog cameras using black & white film stock.
The workshop will provide technical orientation, as well as all equipment and materials used (including cameras, film, etc.)
Short films produced will be presented to fellow teams on December 14, 2024, and shared widely on social media.

Tuesday, December 3rd // 5-9 PM ORIENTATION + PRE-PRODUCTION
Wednesday, December 4th - Saturday, 7th = Shooting period
Saturday, December 14th // 3:30-6:30PM FINAL REVIEW SESSION
